Spring 2020 Registration Information

Practice days and times are determined by the coaches.  Games are scheduled during the week and also on Saturdays.  All players must have their own glove. Personal helmets, cleats, and bats are strongly recommended.  All TCLL coaches will have a bat and extra helmets in their equipment bags to share with the team.

Majors/Minors Division Players ONLY:
Cost: $100

Mandatory evaluation will be held Saturday March 14th, at Central High School from 12:30-3:30 for the following players:

Players moving from Coach/Machine Pitch to Minors
Players moving from Minors to Majors
Any player new to TCLL registering for Minors or Majors

If you have a returning player in Majors or Minors, you will not have to attend evaluations.

All of our teams have both home and away games so will have the opportunity to play in different fields throughout the season.  The "request" section remains in the registration process only for Coach/Machine Pitch and Tee Ball families as they do not go through the draft process. At Coach/Machine Pitch and Tee Ball levels, our player agents try to accommodate as many families as possible.

Once the evaluation and draft process is complete (see draft and evaluation rules below), coaches will contact parents with additional information regarding practice times and schedule.

Practices may start April 10th. Games begin April 27th and end June 13th.

Coach/Machine Pitch/Tee Ball Division Players ONLY:

Cost: $60
After registration closes teams will be formed for Tee Ball and Coach/Machine Pitch Divisions. Once the volunteer coaches have their rosters and schedules, they will contact parents with additional information regarding practices times and game schedules. You may not hear from a coach until early to mid April.  Practices may start April 18th.  Games begin May 9th and end June 27th.

Coach/Machine Pitch families if you have an 8 year old that may be ready for Minors, come to evaluations (see rules for draft and evaluations below).

If you have additional questions, feel free to message us on Facebook or email either [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected]

**Evaluations held at TC Central HS is not a TCAPS sponsored event.

Draft and Evaluation Rules: After evaluations, a draft will take place and teams will be formed based on skill levels from the draft and from last year’s info. TCLL uses Little League International Draft Procedure B. Here is how the entire team selection process works for Minor and Major divisions only:  Head coaches indicate their willingness to coach when they enroll their child in TCLL.  Registration closes and based on numbers the Board determines the number of coaches needed. The board reaches out to Head coaches to let them know they will have a team. Head Coaches select their assistant coach that they will take to the draft and notify the Board Players that are moving up divisions are expected to attend evaluations where they receive a score based on throwing, hitting, pitching, catching and fielding. All players are downloaded from the website and sorted by their proper division (e.g. east minors) The head coach and the assistant coach from every team in each division attend the draft.   The draft starts with two players on a team, the head coach's child and the assistant coach's child. If they have more than one child (e.g. twins) then they wait a turn before they pick their first-round draft pick.  Players are drafted in the following order: players returning in the division, players who were evaluated, players who did not attend the evaluation.  The TCLL board strongly encourages coaches to create teams that are competitive. The only guaranteed players that a coach has are his/her child(ren) and the child(ren) of the assistant coach present at the draft. All other players are in the draft and could be chosen by any coach at any time.  Coaches are able to see requests and may choose to use the information when making their draft picks, but as stated on the website there is no guarantee they will as the goal of the draft is to create teams that are competitive.
